All roads lead to Redemption Camp

by Obeji Eric  |  in NEWS at  00:52:00

HE star attraction of the 17th annual Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, which will be attended by millions of persons from across the globe holds today. It is known as the Holy Ghost Service, where the Great Shepherd, is expected to meet with His sheep and take them to the miraculous in readiness for a positive 2015.

Apart from prayers which have been offered for different segments of the nation’s economy, there will be special intercessions for the nation, apparently to avert the security challenges currently plaguing the country, as well as seek God’s intervention especially in line with predictions of a possible break up of Nigeria by next year.

As at 6.00 p.m. yesterday the sprawling Redemption Camp was already swarming with men, women, boys and girls milling about every available space in the compound.

A source close to the leadership of the church told our reporters last night that the church had made adequate arrangement to host as many persons who are willing to be part of this year’s congress, adding that security personnel are collaborating with the church’s Team Nehemiah to maintain free flow of traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The church has assured all those travelling on the road to obey the new traffic arrangement put in place by the security operatives who are saddled with the responsibility of maintaining law and order on the road, stressing that the church had created more parking lots within the camp ground to accommodate participants.

For today’s event, the church authorities have, therefore, appealed to all those willing to participate to make it early to avoid the usual rush and the unavoidable congestion and pressure on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye appealed to Nigerians to take advantage of the programme, saying that this year’s event promises to be quite remarkable as “ we celebrate the Great Shepherd Himself – His goodness, His love and His faithfulness…Whatever your situation, He is present and already to meet you at the very point of your need.”
