No fewer than three nurses, a Director of Administration, DA, in Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mr. Tayo Olawuyi, and two others were abducted at two different locations in the state in the last one week.

Meanwhile, police in collaboration with the local hunters, have rescued the three nurses, while efforts are on to locate the whereabouts of the DA.

The nurses, who are working with the General Hospital, Ifaki Ekiti, were said to have been abducted at 3p.m., on Friday while Olawuyi’s incident happened last week.

A source disclosed that the nurses were said to be travelling to Ido Ekiti after the close of work, when their abductors took them away.

Other persons who suffered similar fate include one Christopher Adebo and his friend, who were returning to their base after attending a social function at Ewu Ekiti, but were kidnapped by their abductors at a bad portion on the road in Orin Ekiti.

Adebo said: “When we got to a bad portion of the road, we were kidnapped by some young persons whose ages were between 15-18. We were then taken to a forest where we saw four women.

“The gang was apparently working with an Alhaji, whose identity was not disclosed. We were in the forest until we were saved through the assistant of the local hunters.”

Olawuyi’s kidnap was confirmed by a staff of the council, who pleaded for anonymity.

He said Olawuyi was accosted by the suspected kidnappers at the gate of his house at Odo Ado area of Ado Ekiti at gunpoint as he was about entering his house.

It was gathered that the five-man gang also took Olawuyi’s official car away.

The source said: “The family has been trying to reach him, but the cell phone was switched off. In fact, there is confusion everywhere. This is the second time Olawuyi will be kidnapped in three years.”

He said the kidnappers had not contacted the family. Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Victor Babayemi, confirmed the incident.
