MAN 42, REMANDED FOR ISSUEING OVER 1.5 MILLION DUD CHEQUES, TWO FOR SEXUAL ABUSE

   
  The abakaliki high court last week remanded one peter onwe m. 42yrs old for issuing two bounced cheques of one million, four hundred and thirty thousand eight hundred and fifty two naira
(1,424,853.00) and five hundred and fifty three thousand five hundred and thirty seven naira, ninety two kobo (553,537.92) to one engr. Abass A. Abass.

The one count charge reads "You Peter onwe m. on the 31st day of march 2012 at no 5 Abass Egwu Avenue abakaliki in the abakaliki magisterial district did issued two first bank cheques dated 31st march 2012 the sum of One million Four hundred and thirty four thousand eight hundred and fifty two naira (1,434 852.00) and five hundred and fifty three thousand five hundred and thirty seven naira ninety two kobo (553,537.92) Respectively to one engr. Abass A. when he went to cash the money in the said bank, the cheques bounced and thereby committed an offense punishable by law.
