Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram Leader is Dead

Nigeria's militant Islamist leader Abubakar Shekau have been killed by the security forces during a shoot-out.

An "intelligence report" showed that Shekau, the leader of the Boko Haram group,  died between 25 July and 3 August, Lt-Col Sagir Musa said.

Boko Haram, which has waged an insurgency in Nigeria since 2009, has not commented on the statement.

A 49-year-old Mr Kayode Sotunde, a retired Nigerian soldier has narrated his death experience after he woke from the dead at a Kano mortuary in April.

The ex-military man who died en-route Kano on the 11th of April, 2013 is a living witness that heaven and hell is real.

On the fateful day of his death, the passenger bus taking him and others to Kano from Gboko crashed on the road. All the 17 passengers on the bus died on the spot.

Iranian woman barred from office for being too beautiful

Looking at her photos she's definitely pretty but how is she too pretty to be a council woman? 27 year old architect Nina Siahkali Moradi finished 14th among 163candidates in a city council election in Iran but was told a week later that all votes for her were nullified.

According to The Times of London, after news spread that Moradi had been elected, religious conservatives petitioned to have her disqualified because she's 'too attractive.' and would be a cause of distraction. "We don’t want a catwalk model on the council," a senior official in Qazvin said.

The review board later claimed Nina was disqualified not because she was too attractive but because of her 'non-observance of Islamic codes'. Some who opposed her election said she had only been elected because she is young and attractive.

A law expert in Qazvin, told Iran Wire that the review board violated election law with its decision to bar Moradi from taking a seat.

FRED AMATA HAVE ENDED HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MOR OKONKWO

Fred Amata and his girlfriend of less than a year, Mor Okonkwo, have parted ways. Heard they ended their relationship a few weeks after his 50th birthday party in June.

Fred and Mor met in the US in 2011 and started dating a few months later. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Fred is now back in the singles market.

Mor, a single mother with two kids, is a Soul/Jazz artiste who contested in singing reality show - X Factor UK a few years back. She's currently a management consultant.

Mr Bayo Haastrup, the foremost mak-up artist loses wife to cancer

Mr Bayo Haastrup of Ijade Egbin,  the foremost makeup artist lost his wife Lara Haastrup last night Friday August 16th. Lara lost her battle with nasal cancer after just eight months. She was only diagnosed in January this year and died last night after just one dose of chemo.

Mrs Haastrup was a caterer by profession, owner of Rovin Pepper Catering Services. She's survived by her husband Bayo and three children. May her soul rest in peace.

Funeral arrangements: Service of songs at Salem Evangelical church Obanikoro Ilupeju on Thursday August 22nd. Burial service on Friday 23rd at All Souls Anglican Church Sere Close Ilupeju and interment follows immediately after service.

Tonto Dikeh, actor IK Ogbonna and singer Adokiye Yesterday Saturday August 17th came out to support a US based NGO, Ije Africa, as they ran free diabetes and high blood pressure tests and gave out medical materials to those in need at the Obalende area of Lagos.

The stars picked three kids they would sponsor in school for a year and also donated educational materials to support children in school. Well done guys

JONATHAN SEND 8,000 TROOPS AFTER BOKO-HARAM WITH THE NEW ARMY DIVISION

President Goodluck Jonathan appears set to boost the strength of the military in the insurgency infested North-east after indications emerged that about 8,000 troops are being sent there.

The troops, according to security sources, will form the nucleus of an army division to be established in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

Victim of police stray bullet rendered impotent

The Joung master Tayo Ajasa having returned late from work at around 10.30 PM on August 5, went to a food vendor in Diamond estate, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, to get something to eat for his late diner.

He was about being handed a plate of  Indomie  he ordered for, when a drunken man later identified as Corporal Mohammed Abubakar, attached to Mopol 17, Ondo State, shot indiscriminately at everyone on sight. Like everyone else, he took to his heels.  Unfortunately for him, the plain-clothed police man shot him at close range.  Bullets pierced his  thigh inflicting grave injuries to his  groin and left arm.

He was rushed to a clinic at Festac Town,Lagos where after obtaining a police report at the clinic’s request, he was admitted and is currently receiving treatment.

The doctor reported that his situation could be challenging in terms of productivity because his right testicle was badly affected.

The residents of Gomari and Bulunkutu wards of Maiduguri metropolis in Borno state are gripped with fear as members of Borno Vigilance Youths Group (BVYG) and the military Joint Task Force (JTF) Thursday, arrested a Boko Haram female terror suspect, along with a 35-year old man, suspected to be an informant to the Islamist sect that engages women in the smuggling and carrying of rifles and ammunition to launch attacks.

A 29-year-old pastor is standing trial for allegedly molesting and impregnating his senior pastor’s daughter in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has run away to establish his own church.

The new church, which he started in Ikoyi area of Ikere-Ekiti was said to attract a lot of people, having succeeded in taking away many members of the church where he pulled out.
