Though the ex-militant leaders, dissociated themselves from the raging feud between the ex-MEND member known as ‘General Ogunboss’ and the governor, they said the setting up of the five man committee was to plead with both parties and affirm the need for support for the ongoing development efforts of the state governor.
Led by the National Coordinator of the (LPCDI), Pastor Reuben Wilson, the
ex -militant leaders in a communique read yesterday after the Thursday emergency meeting of the group in Yenagoa, announced that they have resolved not to allow themselves to be used by those tagged Abuja politicians to scuttle the existing peace, security and development in the state.
Pastor Wilson said: “The committee is expected to meet with our brother, Ogunboss and plead with the Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson to forgive him.
“No matter what the state governor deserves respect. We would not allow the verbal attack on the governor to continue. We will serve as mediator and settled it.
“We have resolved that we would not allow ourselves to be used by politicians. No one can ask us to write and publish something against anyone.”
The ex militant leaders commended the developmental strides of the governor saying his achievements are there for all to see.
“Dickson has done well and affirm the support of all ex-militant leaders for his administration. We commend him for appointing ex-militant leaders into the State Task Force on security along the waterways and creeks of the state,” he said.
