ALL Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, has described an alleged plot by six lawmakers opposed to the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi to impeach him, as ridiculous and undemocratic.
Media aide to the state Chairman of the party, Chief Chukwu Eze, said the party had uncovered an alleged plot by the six lawmakers to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor at a private hotel, adding that it would not hesitate to commit Mr. Evans Bipi, a factional Speaker of the Assembly, to jail over the alleged plot.

Woman Begs Court: "I Don't Want To Go To Jail Heavily Pregnant"
Kneeling down and sobbing, a heavily pregnant woman, Fasilat Yusuf recently pleaded with the Ikeja Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abule Egba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, presided over by Mr. Tajudeen A. Elias not to send her to Kirikiri Prison because she was about to deliver her baby.
Fasilat was standing trial before the court for her failure to repay a N70,000 loan she took from her neighbour, Sunday Shobowale, both residents of Dele Faniran street, Oko Oba Agege, Lagos.
She took the loan in February, 2013 and failed to pay as agreed. The matter became a police matter and she was arrested and arraigned before the court in September last year.
The Police Prosecutor docked her a two-count charge of obtaining loan without paying and stealing the N70,000 belonging to Sunday, an offence punishable under section 285 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
When the matter was mentioned, her counsel Mr. Akinbiyi pleaded that Fasilat was processing another loan to repay the debt but the company wanted her to put to bed and start work before the loan could be approved for her.
But the chief magistrate responded that the court had been lenient enough with the defendant who had been on trial since last year and was yet to repay one kobo of the loan. If she failed to make any repayment, Elias threatened to send her to Kirikiri Prisons, Apapa on remand until she was able to do so.
She added that the man who impregnated her was in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State in southeast Nigeria from where he sent her only N5,000 a month for feeding and maintenance.
Fortunately for her, before the court rose, the defendant’s mother appeared in the court room. Together with the counsel they prevailed on Elias who later reversed his earlier remand order. But not until the defence counsel had written an undertaking that Fasilat will pay a substantial amount in the next few days.
The case was adjourned till 30 June, 2014 for further resolution of the issue.
Chinese Man Makes A Suitcase In to A Motorcycle
Chinese Man Makes A Suitcase In to A Motorcycle
It is the idea that takes rolling luggage to a whole new level - a
suitcase that doubles up as a scooter.
A Chinese inventor has found a new use for old luggage, turning it
into a mode of transport which can reach speeds of 12mph.
The electronic scooter is the brainchild of He Liangcai, who lives in
China's central Hunan Province.
The amateur inventor has just patented the idea, which includes a GPS, horn and even a theft alarm. And of course, there is plenty of storage space too.
A farmer, who hasn't trained as an engineer, Mr Liangcai actually
only finished his primary school education.
The inventor says he was inspired to create the scooter suitcase
after he forgot his luggage one time when travelling to pick up an
award for a car safety system as stated by Nairaland.

Ritualists Pick Prostitute's Eyes Out After Having Sex With Her In Bayelsa
A female sex worker was brutally attacked by the alleged ritualists in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The offenders are supposed to be ritualists as during the assault on the prostitute they plucked her eyes out. It was gathered that besides the victim two more sex workers were offered N30,000 each for their services but only the unnamed woman was tempted by easy money.
The victim who is the resident of Akwa Ibom State was working at Yenagoa red light district called Good Evening Street on Hospital Road in downtown Yenagoa, when three men in SUV appeared and offered to take a ride with them.
The comfort woman accepted the proposal and after awhile the car stopped in an isolated place, supposedly at a bush path, where the malefactors had round of sex with her and committed the ritual act. Immediately after the crime the so called customers threw her out of the car and fled the scene.
The prostitute was saved by the passing motorists who took her to a nearby police station. Later she was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa for treatment. All the attempts to find out more details of the story failed as the hospital workers were on strike on Wednesday.
According to a hospital consultant, the case has been handed over to the state directorate of social welfare, as none of her relations came since the incident happened last week.
Pele: Neymar goes down too easily
The three time World Cup winner feels the Barcelona player has not developed as well as he expected and needs to learn to stay on his feet more
Brazil legend Pele says Neymar has to win the World Cup to become one of the world's best players and must stop going down so easily.
Although the 22-year-old is known as one of the brightest stars in world football at present, he has developed a reputation for diving and going to the ground under seemingly innocuous challenges.
And Pele believes that he can become one of the best to have played the game if he can pick up a World Cup winners' medal in his career and learn to stay on his feet.
"He still has to overcome some obstacles, especially win a World Cup to be the best player in the world," the three-time World Cup winner told Bild Sport.
"He needs to change though. Neymar needs to get his emotions under control and keep a cool head in duels.
"And he has to learn to play standing up. He must not go down too fast. Therefore, the transfer to Barcelona was the best thing that could happen for Brazil as teams in Europe play harder, the defenders stay tighter to the man.
"He is on a good path. But he's still far off what I expected of him."
"I can act nude for $50m" – Amanda Ebeye
Nollywood Actress, Amanda Ebeye has stated that she can act nude in any Nollywood movie if given 7.5billion naira.
In a recent interview , the ‘Clinic Matters’ star said “I cannot act nude but like I have said before, if you pay me about $50m, I will. Please who is the first to pay? I can shave my hair because I’m an actress. If the role requires it, if it is a beautiful script and the money is good, I will do it. It will not be because it is the trend. It is not because Mercy Johnson did it, so I should, no, that is not enough reason. Right now, the script has to be outstanding for me to be interested in shaving off my hair.”
On growing up, she said “I was a stubborn kid. I was never a tomboy. I don’t know how to bounce or sag for the world but stubborn, fighting for my rights and the rights of others, yes. I always wanted to defend others in need. That’s why often, they used to say I knew how to ‘buy’ other people’s matter. But my friends would say I had and will always have the heart of a child because no matter how much I fight you, I’ll always feel bad and be the first to tell you sorry.”

Barcelona to sign Rakitic for €20m
The Catalan club have stolen a march on rivals Real Madrid and Atletico to snap up the Croatia midfielder on a five-year deal from Sevilla ahead of the World Cup
Barcelona have tied up a €20 million deal to sign Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla.
The 26-year-old was one of the standout performers in La Liga last season as Sevilla finished in fifth place and he helped the Andalusians claim the Europa League crown with victory over Benfica in May.
The former Schalke star's performances caught they eye of many of Europe's elite clubs and his father admitted earlier this week that he had offers from Barca, Real Madrid and Atletico, adding: "We'll decide after the World Cup."
However, Goal understands Barca have now stolen a march on their two domestic rivals by agreeing a deal ahead of the summer showpiece in Brazil, which starts next week.
New coach Luis Enrique met with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta for more than two hours on Thursday to discuss transfer plans for the summer and with former Arsenal pair Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song both looking likely to return to the Premier League, Barca have acted fast to push through a deal for Rakitic.
Sevilla coach Unai Emery was resigned to losing the Swiss-born midfielder on Thursday. "I could understand if Rakitic leaves," he told Canal Plus. "In an ideal world, he would stay but I know he has several offers. If he leaves, we'll try and sign another Rakitic."
Rakitic, who is preparing for Croatia's World Cup debut against Brazil, will sign a five-year deal with the Catalan club and his release clause is to be set at €70m.
He is the second Croatian to sign for Barca this summer after the Blaugrana also brought in 17-year-old attacking midfielder Alen Halilovic from Dinamo Zagreb.

Rihanna honored for style at annual fashion awards
NEW YORK (AP) — Fashion rules are made to be broken, Rihanna told a glittering crowd of fashion industry leaders on Monday, and her outfit dramatically conveyed that message: a sheer fishnet gown, sparkling with thousands of embedded crystals, that left little underneath to the imagination.
The singer cemented her role as a fashion luminary by receiving the 2014 Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Her trophy was presented by Anna Wintour, the powerful Vogue editor, who said that with Rihanna, "the point is to be audacious — even jaw-dropping or button-pushing."
Accepting the award, Rihanna spoke of her origins in Barbados, where "I didn't have a lot of access to fashion." But, she said: "Fashion has always been my defense mechanism." Even as a child, she told the crowd, she used to think: "She can beat me, but she can't beat my outfit."
"I can compensate for all my weaknesses with my fashion," she said, adding: "There are rules, but rules are meant to be broken."
Also honored at the annual CFDA ceremony at Lincoln Center were a number of top designers. Joseph Altuzarra won the womenswear award, and the menswear prize went to Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, the duo behind the Public School label. Sisters Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen of The Row won the accessories award.
The international award went to Raf Simons of Dior, and the CFDA lifetime achievement award went to designer Tom Ford, who quipped that he hoped it didn't spell the end of his career.
"Please have me back in another 25 years," Ford joked. "I promise I'll wear a toupee and walk with a cane."

An emotional high point of the ceremony was the bestowing of the prestigious Founders Award to Bethann Hardison, a former model and modeling agent who has been a vocal champion for diversity on runways.
She was introduced by model Naomi Campbell, who choked up when she described her admiration for Hardison. When Hardison came onstage to accept her trophy, so did 16 models of color, standing behind her and smiling. She spoke passionately of the need for diverse runways — "just let them model," she said — and added that things were improving throughout the industry on that score.
The annual CFDA show, hosted this year by director and screenwriter John Waters, always draws a mix of fashion insiders and Hollywood. This year, one of the biggest names was Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o, who presented the womenswear award to Altuzarra.
Nyong'o, who has become as famous for her choices on the red carpet as her skyrocketing acting career, told the crowd that if there was one thing she had learned in a year of film festivals and awards shows, "it is the power of fashion." She wore a cropped Suno jumpsuit, in multi-colored stripes.
Other Hollywood stars in attendance included Blake Lively in a short Michael Kors dress, and Emmy Rossum in a green chiffon J. Mendel gown. Greta Gerwig wore a bright orange Zac Posen gown.
But none made as big a splash as Rihanna, in her translucent outfit designed by Adam Selman that was embedded with more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals. The gown was accompanied by matching, elbow-length gloves and a glittering headscarf.
Speaking of Rihanna before the show, designer Posen called the pop star a fashion risk-taker who skillfully melds red carpet glamour with a rebellious streak.
"She takes risks and she marches to her own drum and she knows what she likes," Posen told The Associated Press.
Rihanna also has a great appreciation for designers, Posen added: "That's why people love to dress her."
Also singing Rihanna's praises was popular designer Alexander Wang, a nominee for both the womenswear and accessories awards.
"I love my girl RiRi," he said. "She's fearless. She has guts. Even in sweatpants, she owns it!"

Duncan Mighty alleges Governor Amaechi owes him N50million
Dunacan Mighty is alleging he organised a show on behalf of Gov.Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and hasn’t been given his balance ..He says his colleagues who he brought for the show feel he is a traitor and collected money which he did not ….Read mail sent in..
CALL TO GOVERNOR AMAECHI TO PAY ME FOR SERVICES RENDERED TO HIM AND HIS GOVERNMENT. FRIENDS NOW CALL ME A TRAITOR/SABOTEUR.………DUNCAN MIGHTY
“It is on record that on the 30th of March 2011, I, Mr. Okechukwu Duncan Mighty single handedly organized a Celebrity Youth Endorsement Concert in Port Harcourt where I successfully endorsed over 18,000 youths who are eligible voters for the Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi
During the organization of the event under the express approval of the Governor of Rivers State and his cabinet, he gave me the sum of Ten Million Naira through the then secretary to the state Govt. Senator Magnus Abe which totally went into the project. The Governor also gave me his word that the balance of Fifty Million Naira will be paid to me as soon as possible.
In pursuit of the said project, I thereafter raised funds through different sources including personal savings, loans and credit facilities, acquired operational vehicles and branded them for the project, procured several souvenirs, printed many publicity materials, paid for venues, engaged musicians from different parts of the country, undertook logistics such as flight/Accommodation/Transportation and welfare.
The event featured the following A List artistes, comedians and a collection of many Port Harcourt Artistes:
Wande Coal and the Mo. Hits Records crew
Flavour
Banky W
M.I
Ice Prince
Timaya
Stereo Man
Terry G
Jessy Jags
Dj Jimmyjatt
I go die
I go save
And lots more.
The project was concluded as scheduled and the results were achieved, but since then it has become almost impossible to have an audience with the Governor so as to get my balance.
I also visited the Government House on several occasions, and all efforts to get my money proved abortive.
However, the last straw that broke the camel’s back was when the governor systematically started avoiding my calls and personal visits in a bid to deprive me of the balance of the money for a job which I successfully executed.
It is also on record that I have not charged the Rivers State Government a single dime of m y professional appearance fee, due to my personal reason/resolve to give back to the society which made me, starting from the government of Rivers State as a mark of honor and respect.
The rumor mills have it that the Governor of Rivers State has given me juicy contracts including all manner of flashy cars, but I stand here today to debunk such tales, because I have not received as much as a bicycle spoke from Governor Amaechi.
My love for the Ikwerre ethnic nationality, the Niger Delta project and the Nigerian dream has seen me working for virtually everything I own today because there is dignity in labour, hence I can never resort to cheap blackmail or character assassination of any person, group or association, therefore I stand to make this declaration that all I am asking for is the payment of my money, thus, this should not be seen as a political campaign of any sort.
Permit me to bring to your notice, the fact that many of his personal aids and security details have come to me severally, soliciting for financial assistance which I have usually offered them without any hesitation, not knowing that they all have the notion that their boss, Governor Amaechi has been favoring me through contracts, meanwhile this is not also true.
ameachi1
I have tried frantically on several occasions to meet with the Governor one on one so as to resolve this issue but all to no avail.
Most recently I was invited to a dinner between the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and the Governor of Rivers State. Immediately after my performance at the said event inside Government House I ran after the Governor to demand for my money in my usual way, but to my utmost bewilderment the Governor unequivocally told me point blank that I should remember that when we did that transaction he was still working with his former chief of staff, Hon. Nyesom Wike who is now the minister of state for education. This is exactly what prompted me to take this decision of writing this article in other to recover the money which I worked to earn.
This issue also led to the problem that transpired on Friday, the 23rd of May 2014 when I got to the Government House gate at 8am, one of the security details named Mr. Jude rudely ordered me to park my car outside the gate, a situation which led to a scuffle and heated argument between me and the said security officer, as a result of this I subsequently held a meeting with my staff on the way forward concerning this same issue after which we agreed that we should channel the ongoing matter through the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mr David Iyofor. This we did and the cps after hearing the story promised to help contact the governor who happens to be his boss, but to my chagrin the chief press secretary rather stopped taking my calls up till this moment.
Prior to this time I have not played any event for the commissioners and other cabinet members due to the fact that they thought they couldn’t afford to pay my appearance fee because I was the governors favorite hence will be unaffordable to them; a predicament that I have also managed to live with, while my friends, family members, staff and fans have all concluded that I have betrayed them by going behind to collect huge sums of money for events at the Government House without giving them their own.
I have also not charged the rivers state government my usual professional appearance fee on events. The present chief of staff to Rivers State Government Mr Tony Okocha and Senator Magnus Abe are my witnesses on this.
meanwhile due to the multi-lingual nature of Rivers State as a result of different ethnicities, I decided to record a song which I titled PORT HARCOURT BOY where I mentioned the names of various prominent men who have made their mark at one point or the other; even people from other states who lived and conducted their businesses in Port Harcourt as a way of promoting and uniting the state.
Shortly afterwards the general public started saying that Governor Amaechi has been the one behind my career success claiming that he bought me all manner of flashy cars and pays me huge amount of money regularly, meanwhile since I finished the project for the governor he virtually declined paying me the outstanding balance as agreed upon our transaction.
It is also a known fact that before amnesty was given DUNCAN MIGHTY was the first artiste in the entire Niger Delta to embrace the creeks all over the country, using my music to promote peace in the region, encouraging the youths to shun cultism, youth restiveness and other social vices.
The entire entertainment industry within the Niger Delta region actually believed that I was constantly favored by the governor hence they all came to me in 2011 pleading with me to become the chapter president of performing musicians association of Nigeria (PMAN), a move I constantly rejected so that I can concentrate on my career.
All this while God has been my source of inspiration and survival; my pillar of strength and protection.
It was also rumored that I was appointed a member of river state carnival committee, and due to their secret nature of meeting and deliberating on carnival issues, my fellow artistes constantly accused me of not carrying them along, an accusation which I’ve always struggled to debunk till date.
Moreover, my passion for going all the way to contribute my quota to the development of the entertainment industry in the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole was born out of genuine interest, love and previous roles as a professional audio engineer who has worked for many international brands at different capacities.
More so, I need to clear the air on this issue which made a lot of artistes who I was owing some outstanding balance to call me a traitor, saboteur, saying that I have betrayed them by refusing to pay them when in the actual sense I have not received further payment from the Governor. Since I didn’t want any further trouble arising from this issue, I had to pay them out of my pocket from my own funds.
Once more, I will like to state that this has nothing to do with party politics, I am seriously appealing to everyone who knows Governor Amaechi to tell him to pay me my money in the name of God
